The Native Americans subscribed to a commons (yes, communist) system in which everyone shared their property. There was no personal ownership of anything for the Native Americans, especially not land. Land was for everyone’s use. The fact that no one could own the land is why the Native Americans depleted their resources every single time and were forced to move across the country. The Native Americans had a constant tragedy of the commons. With no actual personal property, it would be impossible to say the American settlers “stole” the property from the Native Americans. The Native Americans never owned any of the property in any of the sense.
It makes no sense how people can say “Well, no, the Americans stole the land from the Native Americans” since the Native American land was a commons, with everyone having the ability to use and exhort the resources.
The colonists originally set up the American colonies as a commune (yes, communism); however, once that led to mass starvation, it was the American settlers, the colonists, who instituted property rights. It was the colonists who, once they instituted property rights, had such an abundance of food that they were able to share the food with the Native Americans (hence, Thanksgiving). I bet none of your elementary school teachers taught you that.
Wow. Lotta good points made there that I’ve never even thought about. Lots of good points.
But I never understood what exactly was wrong with Columbus. The dude went on a mission. Found some folks who weren’t who he expected, brought back some chocolate and info and fun.
White European cultures aren’t the only people who ever went somewhere and took charge or whatever. And sometimes, the white tribes invaded other white tribes. Because they didn’t see anything in terms of “white Europeans enslaving every nonwhite group in the world.”
Back then, people just went and discovered and took fun stuff and fought with others and sometimes took over. That is how history has gone since the beginning of them. And none of it was the fault of the Caucasian race.
Btw, there have been many of explorers who have come to the Americas and “discovered” it. There was Brendan and Irishman, Vikings who went to Greenland and beyond, some people from the ice age who were from what is now France. I saw a History Channel special on it like last year. It was awesome. Ohhhhhh and I forgot. Originally no one lived on the American continents. So technically, every single human being (and some animals) were immigrants and were not indigenous.
So, in point, America never belonged to just the natives and not everything is the White European’s fault.
Anyways, thank you as usual to communismkills. You always make super good rational and realistic points.
