Conservative Perspective
I'm Katie and I'm a 23 year old college student. I'm extremely conservative and I'd call myself a Common Sense Conservative. I support the Tea Party but most importantly, I support the Constitution and the American Dream. I believe America is the greatest nation on earth and it's time for a minimally intrusive government that shows that it too believes America is the best nation.

So apparently 16 trillion is this number floating around today. Maybe it’s gallons of water in the ocean? Or blades of grass in Mississippi? Or insects in the Amazon? Or cells in the body of the fattest person on earth?

It’s our national debt. $16 trillion dollars.
I swear it was less than a year ago when it reached $15 trillion.
Oh wait, it was less than a year ago. 16 November 2011.
This is incredibly sad. For the longest time debt grew at a normalish pace. And now in 10 months, it goes up $1 trillion. I wonder if my graphing calculator can show such an incredibly high slope…..
I wonder how this will play out during the DNC this week.
While a part of me is happy that this will make the DNC difficult for Democrats, I’d much rather have $15 trillion than $16 trillion in deb. Or none.
