Apparently, the etymology is debated. It could mean “each of the two,” it could stem from Hecate (which might mean “far off”) or mean “torture” (my personal favorite meaning), as well as “my consecration of your name” (whatever the hell that means), in addition to “pure.”
So….we’re going with “torture.”
