It just prevents election fraud. Common sense.

If you should have to show ID for a library card, you should have to show ID for voting. It’s not like there’s a big library card fraud conspiracy.

Heck, I even had to show my ID when I lost my library card and had to get a new number.

Speaking of library cards, libraries are beyond strict. I had my card number memorized but I had lost it. So I told them that I had the number memorized and that I had my ID with me so they can cross check the info on my ID with the info in the system for the card number.

Nope. No go. “You have to have the card.”

If they are that strict with library books, they should be that strict with voting.

If you can’t pay 30$ to vote, then you’ve got other problems going on right now.

mmhmm. And if you do have an ID and use it for any of those things, then it shouldn’t be a problem to bring it with you to the polls.

Especially because there IS a such thing as voter fraud and some people have in fact voted multiple times… it happens! And it’s not right.

Or when people vote with a dead person’s name. Things like that. It’s not the race of the person, or who they might be pretending to be, it’s whether or not they’re a real, valid voter.

Jk. Seriously, it’s common sense. If the person has only been dead for a few months or a year, obviously the board of elections will not know because it’s a bureaucracy and those take forever to realize anything, then someone could totally vote in their name.

Just show the damn ID. Most people already have them in one form or another. It’s really not that big of a deal so I don’t know why they’re making it about discrimination. Oh wait, I know why. They’re professional bitchers who have nothing else to do with their time.

Maybe instead of complaining, they should donate their time and money to help people without IDs go get one and help them pay for it. I’m sure Al Sharpton has plenty of money he can donate to that cause.
